The tale of 2 tables....

Today is the big day.... We are having our wine and cheese at the Penton Development House we decorated for the Parade of Homes. The best part... Everything is for sale.

Like these... Well not these. This is what they looked like when we spied them at a local shop.
Great lines... yes. Mid century... yes. Shabby chic?...NO! Mid century and distressed on purpose do not go hand in hand. But, lucky for these great little tables, we had a vision.

They got a fresh paint job in high gloss white. The new crisp white compliments the beautiful simplicity of the design. And.... gold dipped legs! Ahhhh.... they seem so much happier now. A little green knob and they fit in the parade of homes master bedroom like a dream.

Reunited and it feels so good! These vintage emerald lamps are right at home on top. Come visit the perfect pair tonight at our wine and cheese! And... these little gems are not sold (yet)!

Hope to see you tonight!

A New House with an Old Vibe

I just finished working on a house with a friend/client that has given me some serious house envy. I try very hard not to get too attached, but this one and all of it's character, just does it for me. Enter their large airy foyer complete with a reclaimed door and amazing heart pine floors. We painted the walls and the trim Benjamin Moore, Dove White. We went one shade darker with the walls so the trim would pop and so would her art.
Come on in...
We found this table and the blue/white ceramic ginger jars and vases at local auction house, Big South. Major scores if you ask me because she wanted a lived in collected look that would mesh with her existing pieces.
We layered and added pops of blue and white and pulled from her rugs and art throughout the living space.
New (but worn) leather chairs and a big comfy sectional covered in linen gives the room an aged but relaxed vibe.
The metal base coffee table was refinished on top to give a dated oak finish new life.

We painted her chairs a medium gray and added new Ikat cushions for a sitting area with amazing water views.

The details make all of the difference.
                             Books and...

more books make this room feel lived in. Aged brass pulls are like jewelry on the built-ins.

We found this train depot bench at a warehouse sale and I love the look of it in their hallway. I loved every minute of shopping for this place and mixing this family's eclectic pieces with old (new) finds. The clients had a clear vision of what they wanted so it was fun to work on this with them.  I can't wait to show you more of this beauty. Stay tuned!

In other news... check out one of my kitchen renovations today at
House of Turquoise! Thanks Erin for the mention!
                                                                                bye bye birdie...

We have had some much fun decorating the Parade House for Penton Development. Studio 123 helped us stock the dining room and we are excited to show you how it turned out.
We love the Studio 123 navy lacquered chairs paired with our glass and brass dining table.

This brass table is a steal at $425!
This red buffet with a orange glaze would be beautiful in a dining room or entry.
We added some Jonathan Adler pillows for a pop of color...
And an bone inlay tray for interest. Can't afford to redo your entire dining room? Spruce it up with accents like these...

And on to the less formal dining... we loved doing the breakfast space as well.
This coral chandelier is gorgeous and would light up any room.
You wanted to buy the lucite chairs at our blog party so we brought you these. They are $211 each and brand new. Paired with these linen pillows, they would be the perfect addition in any space. We love them with the lacquered "Koi" dining table.
This would make a gorgeous breakfast table. It's timeless and the gray lacquer keeps it neutral.

Don't forget to visit the Landfall during the Parade April 28, 29 and May 4,5 and come to our open house April 30 from 6-9 p.m. We can't wait to see you there!
bye bye birdie...

Also, stop by the Landfall during the Parade of Homes April 27,28 and May 4,5.
Our Birds of a Feather Open House is April 30, from 6-9 pm. Stop by and SHOP!

We have had so much interest in the custom upholstered headboard and how it's time to show you the rest of this master retreat!
The headboard and bed/bedding are a king.
Check out the lacquered parsons desk and fretwork chair. Perfect for a desk or dressing table. They are sold separately.
The chair is $175 and is a steal. There are 6 more where these came from!
The shams are Company C and lovely in person. Don't you just love the emerald vintage lamps? Since Emerald is the Pantone color of the year, why not do a bedroom around this gorgeous hue?
Speaking of Emerald the over dyed 9X12 Turkish rug is stunning.

Details, details. So many of you asked for a closeup of the headboard-- here you go! Brass nail heads accent white chevron textured upholstery. The head board is brand new and a steal at $650. It would work in any bedroom!
We are loving the custom painted side tables -- the legs are dipped in gold.
Absolutely stunning and a twist on mid-century with gold dipped legs and a turquoise knob. They are $160 each.

Isn't it amazing? It's a twist on traditional, just like everything in this home.

Kristin Gibson's art is the perfect addition to the walls. Tomorrow, we will unveil the dining room and breakfast room. For now, here is a sneak peek...

Come back tomorrow to see close ups of the dining room and email us if you see something you want.
bye bye birdie...

We did a twist on traditional by using furniture with classic lines paired with unexpected fabrics and color.
The lines of this sofa are crazy good and perfectly perfect covered in the simple canary yellow fabric. Do not miss the cobalt lacquered legs... Fun! We were thrilled with the indigo over dyed rug we used to anchor the space. Remember... All for sale!
This vintage aqua and brass lamp is a beautiful classic lamp that would be the bell of the ball in any space.

The aqua lamp screams Hooper but this lamp is all me! I love the deep rich color and the simple elegance of this blue column lamp.

What a statement this chair would make in any room. The lines are beautiful and the fabric is the perfect touch of animal print.

We have a pair of theses paisley club chairs. Aren't they great? ... Sun room anyone?

The glass coffee table is the perfect choice to not cover the rug and yes, is for sale. This piece got a lot of attention at our blog party so let us know if you want it for your living room!

We were so excited to have this vibrant painting above the fireplace. It is by North Carolina artist Bobby Logic (great name too...) and would be a perfect statement piece in any space.
See more of his art here.

Thought you needed a close up of the aqua lamp! ...love...

Who needs bar stools? The Jonathan Adler fabric is a fun choice for these bamboo stools.

Again, Come see us and this beautiful home. We would love to help you shop for the perfect piece to take home.  Let us know if you see something  you would like to know more about and stay tuned for more sneak peaks!
Prices upon request.
Have a great weekend!
