Backsplash Makes a Splash

My little kitchen at our rental in Bald Head Island got a make over last weekend. As you know, I had already painted the butcher block counters to look like marble, see here.
I wanted to add more white and loved this long white glossy subway tile from Southeastern Tile Connection.  Check it out...

I had it stacked to mimic the ceiling and I love the lines of it. It brightens up the kitchen even more.

The floating shelves make the kitchen feel open (vs. upper cabinets). By painting the shelves white, they make the kitchen feel larger.

It may be small, but it packs a lot of punch!
What Summer projects are you working on?

bye bye birdie...

I love all these back splash ideas you are sharing. My favorite one is the very first one. You took a boring normal kitchen and changed it by adding some simple white tiles to the wall. Thanks for sharing these great photos. http://www.granart.com.au/products
